Tinkerbell Cake

A friend of mine heard that I have a knack for cakes, and she asked me (on Thursday) if I would make a Tinkerbell Cake for her daughter's party today! I said sure, why not? I have nothing else to do!! :) Anyway, here are some photos.

I love the first shot-Tink in pieces!! Looks slightly bizarre! It turned out pretty good.
The more often I work with fondant, the more I learn. She kind of sank a bit....But, the 3 and 4 year olds liked it-that is what counts!

Okay- you must come here and give me lessons!!! That looks awesome!

What kind of cake do you use? And how is the fondant for taste? Does it dry out much? Is it easy to cut? I need to know everything!

By looking at the body parts I don't think I would have guessed the were body parts. But man, Tink looks great. Fondant is interesting stuff. Can you eat that stuff, would you really want to?

The fondant that I use is just marshmallow and icing sugar mixed together....it tastes fine. But, if you don't want to eat it, underneath it there is regular buttercream frosting and the fondant peels right off!!
It rolls out with a rolling pin, easy-peasy! Cut it with a pizza cutter, cookie cutters, sharp knife...
This cake was just a basic white cake (as requested by b-day girls mom) but I took some batter and coloured it then swirled it through to make it look like a rainbow! Fun!!

You are one talented, creative mama.
I feel left out. I don't have a picture beside my comment :(
I better get on that.
